Build a 36V bank around the motor
A native 36V-class pack avoids the two external series jumpers used with a three-battery 12V bank. It still needs properly sized conductors, external circuit protection, secure restraints and a compatible charging path.
Start with the motor and controller’s operating voltage, maximum current and startup demand. Then compare installation space, terminal access and expected energy consumption. A thrust figure or a Group 31 label alone does not establish compatibility.
Monitor the battery and plan for cold charging
Bluetooth 5.0 provides a phone-based monitoring connection through the compatible app. Confirm the supported readings, phone requirements and commissioning steps for the supplied configuration. Bluetooth monitoring does not replace external protection or installation checks.
This version includes low-temperature protection, not a heater. Charging stops below 0°C and can resume at 5°C or above. Review battery temperature and charger settings before charging in cold weather.

Nominal energy is calculated as 38.4V × 50Ah, not measured usable energy. Output power is calculated at nominal voltage. Actual system capability depends on operating voltage, temperature, wiring, protection and connected equipment. Peak discharge is time-limited and does not establish an engine-starting rating.
Four checks before a lead-acid upgrade
- Motor: verify the 36V architecture, controller limits and continuous demand.
- Charging: compare every charger and charging source with the selected battery’s voltage, current and temperature limits.
- Installation: measure the entire box, lid clearance, terminals, cable bends and mounting restraints. Group 31 naming is not a universal fit guarantee.
- Expansion: use parallel connections only within the stated limit and follow the model-specific installation instructions.
36V Trolling Motor Battery FAQ
Which trolling motors can use this battery?
Select a 36V-class motor and controller with demand within the battery’s electrical limits. Review the motor’s maximum current and startup behavior rather than relying on thrust alone. A 250A one-second value is not a continuous rating or a universal motor-compatibility claim.
Can one pack replace three 12V lead-acid batteries?
A single 38.4V pack can be considered for a compatible 36V trolling-motor bank. Confirm the charger, motor controller, electrical protection, mounting and terminal clearance before conversion. Do not connect this pack to a 12V or 24V motor.
How long will a 50Ah battery run the motor?
Runtime depends on average battery-side current, speed setting, wind, current, hull load and operating conditions. Capacity divided by average current gives an initial estimate; account for the permitted operating window and real-world losses. No fixed fishing-day runtime is promised.
Can these batteries be connected in series or parallel?
Series connection is not supported. Up to four identical packs may be connected in parallel according to the model-specific instructions. Confirm matching batteries, state of charge, cable layout and protection. Parallel expansion does not by itself guarantee a particular system output current.
Does low-temperature protection mean it has a heater?
No. This version has low-temperature protection but no self-heating. Charging stops below 0°C and can resume at 5°C or above. Use charging equipment compatible with the selected battery and its temperature limits.
Can it start an engine or be submerged?
No. This is a deep-cycle trolling-motor and auxiliary-power battery, not an engine-starting battery. IP65 is not a submersion rating. Protect the terminals and secure the battery in a suitable compartment.
