GROUP 8D · 48V DEEP-CYCLE ENERGY STORAGE
5.12kWh in one 48V-class battery.
TUORDE’s 48V 100Ah Group 8D LiFePO4 battery brings a single 51.2V pack to compatible off-grid, mobile auxiliary and lead-acid replacement projects. Start with the battery bay and system load, then match charging and protection to the 100A continuous limits.

Plan the battery bank around the installation
A single 48V-class pack removes the inter-battery series connections required by a bank of lower-voltage batteries. It still needs a compatible charger, correctly sized conductors, external circuit protection and secure mounting. Keep the load and charging checks separate from the mechanical-fit check.
- Off-grid inverter systems: review continuous DC demand, start-up surge and the inverter’s operating voltage range.
- Mobile auxiliary power: confirm the electrical architecture, enclosure restraint and equipment access.
- Lead-acid upgrades: document the existing bank arrangement and every charging path before replacing the bank.

Nominal energy is calculated as 51.2V × 100Ah. Usable energy and runtime depend on load, temperature, operating limits and losses. The 5,120W calculation uses nominal voltage and is not constant output across the discharge range. The 280A figure is limited to five seconds and is not a CCA rating.
Before approving a replacement
- Record system voltage, continuous loads, surge demand and operating-time requirements.
- Measure the battery bay, lid clearance, terminal position and cable bend space.
- Check shore chargers, solar controllers and any other charging equipment individually.
- Review the mounting, disconnects, cable ratings, circuit protection and installation environment.
- Validate the selected configuration with the current datasheet and mechanical drawing.
Group 8D Battery FAQ
Why is a 48V battery rated at 51.2V?
48V identifies the system class; 51.2V is this LiFePO4 pack’s nominal voltage. Check the equipment’s full input range and the specified charging profile rather than relying on the system label alone.
Will it fit an existing Group 8D tray?
Compare the approximately 520 × 269 × 220mm enclosure with the actual tray and cover. Include terminal height, cable routing, restraint and service access. Group 8D is a format description, not a universal-fit guarantee.
How much inverter power can it support?
The continuous discharge limit is 100A. The nominal-voltage calculation is 5,120W on the DC side; it is not a guaranteed AC inverter rating. Allow for lower operating voltage, inverter losses, surge duration and the complete circuit’s limits.
Can I keep the existing lead-acid charger?
Check the charger model, charge stages, voltage settings and current limit against CC/CV charging at 57.6V ± 0.8V. The recommended current is 20A and the continuous maximum is 100A. Assess any equalization or desulfation mode using the equipment instructions.
Can batteries be connected in series or parallel?
This configuration permits up to four identical compatible batteries in parallel and does not support series connection. Follow the model-specific instructions for balancing, cabling and protection. Parallel operation does not automatically establish a guaranteed combined current rating.
Is this an engine-starting or all-weather battery?
This is a deep-cycle energy-storage battery, not an engine-starting battery. Charging is specified from 0°C to 50°C; do not charge below the specified range. IP65 does not establish immersion suitability. Use an installation appropriate to the environment.
Specify your 48V Group 8D battery program
For battery distributors, vehicle upfitters and system integrators: mention the 48V 100Ah Group 8D battery and share your application, battery-bay drawing, inverter loads, chargers, target market and estimated quantity. Discuss labels, packaging and the documentation needed for your project.
